Warren H. Richards, 83 of Lima, Ohio died on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 5, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, to Harry W. Richards and Elvira Anderson Richards. They both preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Eva Music Richards.
He was employed by Ford Lima Engine Plant.
He served in the Navy from 1946 until 1948.
Mr. Richards married Eva L. Music on June 12, 1955, she survives. When he was in the Navy, he sailed to the South Pole with Admiral Byrd. He was a member of North Park Community Church. Volunteered with Children Choosing Christ, Volunteered with AARP helping people with tax preparation. Served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent. He enjoyed watching old movies, in particular Westerns. Enjoyed feeding and watching hummingbirds. He attemded Bluffton College.
Surviving are son, Bruce (Emily) Richards of Westerville, OH, daughters, Janeice Loughrin of Lima, OH and Judith (Todd) Arthur of Hamilton, OH, eight grandchildren , Jaime Clevenger, Julie & Michael Ratzlaff, Joel; & Stacie Loughrin, John Loughrin, Cory Richards, David Richards, Jack Richards, Claire Richards, three great-grand children, Ellie Clevenger, Anna Ratzlaff, Ally Ratzlaff, sisters, Elaine Budd and Marilyn (Frank) Strange.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Lima Baptist Temple with the Pastor Gary Hohman and Pastor Jim Baker officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 13, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to North Park Community Church or Lima Baptist Temple .
