Wayne R Bellinger

After a tough battle with his health, Wayne R. Bellinger, 66, was welcomed home, into the arms of Jesus at 3:48 A.M. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

Wayne was born on February 10, 1952 in Lima, Ohio, to Russell and Fern (Reed) Bellinger.  On Valentine’s day, February 14, 1975, he married Verne L. (Walters) Bellinger, who survives in Elida, having shared 43 years together.

Wayne was a lifelong farmer and loved taking care of the land that God had entrusted him with for all these years.  We would often joke that he was more deeply rooted in the soil than the corn he loved to grow.  Wayne loved Gospel music, going to auctions, working out in the yard, and tinkering in the barn.

Wayne loved the Lord and was a member of Lima Community Church where he served as an usher and volunteered for many projects over the years.  He also volunteered at the Nazarene campground in St. Marys; where the goal was to bring many to a relationship with Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Verne Bellinger, mother, Fern Bellinger, sisters: Beverly Conner of Cairo, OH, and Jolene (Art) Burkholder of Cairo, OH, Nieces: Stacey Burkholder, Jennifer Burkholder, Michelle (Jason) Miller, and Annie Conner,  great-nieces: Natalie Miller and Lauren Miller, special nephew, Matthew (Kendra) Burkholder, and great-nephew, Dominic Burkholder.  He is also survived by his wonderful farming friend Mark Dodds and his two precious dogs, Cooper and Brandy.

He was preceded in death by his father Russell Bellinger, and brother-in-law, Dennis Conner.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.   A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.  at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio with viewing one hour prior to service.  Pastor Doug Boquist officiating. Burial will follow at the Cairo East Side Cemetery.
