Wilfred Brown

WILFRED M. BROWN, 86, died at 11:30 a.m. June 19, 2006, at his residence. He was born July 9, 1919, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to David and Grace Gallant Brown, who preceded him in death. On September 19, 1950, he married Rita Marie Kelly, who preceded him in death. Mr. Brown had been a manager for the Lima Cable Vision Co. He was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54 and had been a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 21. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. He was an avid bowler. Survivors include a daughter, Billie J. Brown Briggs of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Doris Michael of St. Johns, Ohio; a brother, Howard D. Brown of St. Meyers, Florida; four grandchildren, Lisa R. (Brad) Miller and Cynthia J. (Eric) Hall, both of Lima, Ohio, and Michael Brown and Tina Marie Brown, both of Phoenix, Arizona; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Brown. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
