WILFRED O. "IKE" EICHACKER, 85, died at 8:10 p.m. December 16, 2005, at his home in Toledo, Ohio. He was born May 26, 1920, in Portland, Indiana, to Charles O. and Hulda Sibery Eichacker. In 1956, he married Dorothy E. Hogue, who died February 7, 2004. Mr. Eichacker was a truck driver for Matlack for 25 years and for Standard Oil for 20 years. He was a National Forest firefighter for three years and was an Army veteran of World War II who served in Sicily and Africa. He enjoyed traveling. Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Stemen of Lima, Ohio and Ellen Rose (Henry) Sager of New Knoxville, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Harter of Lima, Ohio; three nephews, Brad (Debra) Harter of Lima, Ohio, Kenny (Paulette) Stemen and Robert (Susie) Mallett; six nieces, Suzie (Joe) Schirmer, Gale Williams, Jane (Jim) Beatty, Judy Gast, Melanie Zuppardo and Pamela Hakius; and caregivers Mr. and Mrs. Mark Sodd of Toledo, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Mallett. Service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, OHio. The Rev. Stephen Blum will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
