Wilhelmina "Wilma" Elizabeth Burden

Wilhelmina "Wilma" Elizabeth Burden,

87, died on March 15, 2018, at 1:51 pm at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

Wilma was born in Anspach, Germany on June 8, 1930. Her parents Simon F. Schuster and Christine Elisabeth preceded her in death.

On September 4, 1948 she married Harold Eugene Burden Sr.  They met during WWII. They had two children Harold E. Burden Jr. (Rhonda) and Linda E. Warner. She was also a foster parent.

She has eight grandchildren Lisa Burden, Paul Warner, Kelly Burden, Angie Mayer (Earl), Christina Hicks (Chad), Wesley Burden and William Burden. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael E. Warner. She has great-grandchildren, Nicholas Mayer (Angie), Heather Mayer (Cody), April Warner (Aaron) and Summer Warner, Josh Burden and Justin Burden (Sarah). She was a great-great- grandmother to Saylor Miller and Evo Burden.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning her own foods and cooking for her family.  She attended some college. Wilma was an in home caregiver and worked at a dress shop when she was very young, called, “Three Sisters” and the Lenore Dress Shop. She was an active member of First Assembly of God Church.

She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family taking many trips and making wonderful memories. She was an avid crocheter, making afghans and clothing for her family. She enjoyed holidays cooking and buying gifts for her family. She enjoyed reading. Wilma was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Friends and family may visit Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 2 to 8 pm at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11 am at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Her final resting place will be at Memorial Park in the Mausoleum.
