97 of Lima, Ohio died on Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Sarah Jane Living Center in Delphos, Ohio.
Born Saturday, August 16, 1913 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Herman Bechtel and the late Marie (Mahler) Bechtel. He was the husband of Mary Carter Bechtel whom he married on August 13, 1949 in forest, Ohio.
He had been a Forman for 43 years at R G Dun.
Surviving are sons, William (Jackie) Bechtel, Jr. and Steven (Janet) Bechtel, daughters, Darlene (Donald) Gudakunst, Linda (Lee) Macwhinney, Cheryl (Terry) Eversole and Anna (Jeff) Bruns. Twelve grandchildren, Nineteen Great Grandchildren, four Great Great Grandchildren.
He was predeceased by One Great Grandchild, One brother and Five sisters
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Pastor Steven Kingery officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, , , . Memorial contributions may be sent to American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association.
