William E. "Bill" Davisson,
76, died on Friday, April 18, 2014, at 9:08 A.M. at the Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, Ohio.
William was born on December 21, 1937, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Robert Davisson and Catherine (Moriarity) Davisson.
Mr. Davisson married Elizabeth "Betty" Schimpf on November 14, 1964. She survives in Lima. He served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Davisson was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, where he was an usher and also a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. He was a 1956 graduate of St. Rose High School which was their last graduating class. He worked at Lima Tank Plant, BLH, Stamco-New Bremen (retired), and Northland Bowling Lanes. He loved to garden. He loved his dogs Cuddles and Snuggles and going to the beach. He also coached St. Charles soccer for many years and truly enjoyed it.
He is survived by: two daughters, Donna (Earl) Fralick, of Hilliard, OH, and Carol A. (Ryan) Van Meter, of Lima, OH; three sons, Mike P. (Rhonda) Davisson, of Elida, OH, Gary E. (Lisa) Davisson, of Elida, OH, and John W. Davisson, of Harrod, OH; one sister, Sister Mary Frances Davisson, of Cincinnati, OH; four sisters-in-law, Janet Schimpf, and Joan Schimpf, Ruthie (Schimpf) Wiechart all of Lima and Blanche (Schimpf) Hummel of Port Richey, FL; two brothers-in-law Carl (Betty) Schimpf, of Lima, OH; Tom Brennan, of Massillon, OH; fourteen grandchildren Madison, Joshua, Benjamin and Caroline Fralick; Morgan, Carlie and Courtney Van Meter; Rachael, Molly, and Carter Davisson; Nathan , Justin, and Anna Davisson and Jaden Davisson.
He is preceded in death by: an infant brother, Robert Davisson; and five brothers-in-laws, Jim Schimpf, Paul Schimpf, William Schimpf, Donald Schimpf, David Schimpf and two sisters-in-laws Mary Lou Brennan and Deloris Schimpf.
The family would like to thank the staff for the wonderful care given to Bill at Elmcroft, Lima Convalescent Home, PSA 3-Area Agency on Aging and Bridge Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. A Parish Wake will be held at 8:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Rev. David M. Ross will be officiating.
Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, Ohio.
