William F. "Willie" DeRose
87, died at 6:50 AM on Thursday, July 04, 2013, at his residence in Lima, Ohio.
William was born on August 10, 1925, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late Romold and Josephine DeRose. On Wednesday, February 13, 1963, he married Virginia [Shaner] DeRose. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1998.
Mr. DeRose was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #370 Lima, Ohio. He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946 during WWII.
He is survived by: a son, Anthony "Tony" (Joan) DeRose, of Lima, OH; step daughter, Pam Magill, of Lima, OH; five grandchildren, Tony (Megan) DeRose of Findlay, OH, Dominic (Kelly) DeRose of Lima, OH, Jenna DeRose of Lima, OH, Louie DeRose of Columbus, OH, Billy DeRose of Dayton, OH; one great grandson, Oliver DeRose; eleven step grandchildren, Robin, John, Ted, Nick, Vince, Vera, Ginny, Adam, LeRoy, Heather, Jay; many step great grandchildren; one brother, Pete (Rita) DeRose; a sister, Helena Ash; step daughter-in-law Helen Rolston of Lima, OH; a sister-in-law Rita DeRose.
He was preceded in death by: two step daughters, Carol Collar; Lou (Robert) Ciminillo; a step son, Bud Rolston; three brothers, Sil DeRose, Polo DeRose, and Paul DeRose; a sister, Jannie Zirger.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 08, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary Service at 8:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 09, 2013 at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Father Jim Szobonya officiating.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
