William Downard

WILLIAM J. "BILL" DOWNARD, 78, died at 10:09 p.m. October 26, 2004, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. He was born August 3, 1926, in Lafayette, Ohio to Leo W. and Esta Addy Downard, who preceded him in death. On December 21, 1946, he married Mary Szekely, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Downard retired from Scot Lad Foods, after 30 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Survivors also include two sons, Larry Downard and David Downard, both at home; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Downard and Roy Downard; and two sisters, Paulette Downard and Betty Kausky. There will be no services or visitation.
