William "Bill" Glancy
90, died at 4:05 P.M. on Saturday, April 11, 2015.

William "Bill" Glancy was born on September 15, 1924, in Lima, Ohio, to the late William H. Glancy and Gwendolyn Lucille (Rockhill) Glancy-Clark.

Bill married Constance J. "Connie" Chamberlin on September 19, 1959. She survives in Lima. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was a recipient of the Good Shepherd Award, served as an usher for many years and was known as "The Candy Man". He was a 1943 graduate of Lima Central High School and attended Clemson University. He was an Army veteran serving with the Army Air Corps and was an instructor for the B-25's and B-29's during WWII. He was a pilot with Lima Aviation and then worked as a company pilot/sales engineer for the Ohio Decorative Products retiring in 1988. He was a life member of the Elks #54 and a member of the Eagles Aerie #370. He was an avid Ohio State fan.

He is survived by his two daughters, Laura (Darrell) Ball, of Lima and Lynn (Jerry Sr.) Sarchet, of Elida; five grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Murphy, of Piqua, Emily (Kevin) Erickson, of Greenville, Chelsea Ball, of Lima, Dr. Barbara (Dr. Patrick) Cooper, of Silver Spring , MD, Jerry Jr. (Jennifer) Sarchet, of Manassas, VA; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Skelly, of Bryan, OH, Sheila Miller, of Lima and Joyce (Richard) Cira, of Lima; close family friends Curtis & Linda Young and family; and his beloved dog, Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Ewing and two brothers-in-law Neil Skelly and Lyle "Bud" Miller.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the physicians and staff at St. Rita's Medical Center for all the excellent, compassionate care Bill received while there.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio, and one hour before the time of service on Thursday, April 16, 2015.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lima, Ohio. Rev. Kent Wilson will officiate.

A private family interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church/Renovation Project.
