William Griffin

WILLIAM G. GRIFFIN, 82, died at 5:25 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008 at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born on December 6, 1925 in Lima, Ohio to Dean Wagner & Laurine Estelle North Griffin, who preceded him in death. Mr. Griffin was the co-owner of the Dean Griffin and Son?s Furniture Store for 44 years. He married Betty J. Clark on June 18, 1946. She survives in Elida, Ohio. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1275-Lima; and the Eagles Aerie 370-Lima. He served in the Army from March 23, 1944 to May 2, 1946. He was a member of the Tamarac Golf Club for 35 years and employed at the Tamarac Golf Club for 17 years. Bill had 6 holes-in-one during his golfing career. Nothing pleased him more than being able to give tips about the game of golf to young players and friends to help them improve their play. Survivors include a son William B. & Lynn Griffin of Lima, Ohio; a daughter Kimberley L. & Dwayne LaRue of Cloverdale, Ohio; Three Grandchildren, Eric & Ammy Griffin of Lima, Ohio; Colleen & Keith Wurster of North Carolina; and Travis Brown, stationed in Kuwait. Four great grandchildren, Nicholas Griffin, Nathan Griffin, Zane Wurster, Jason Deal. A Brother, Robert Dean & Juanita Griffin of Findlay, Ohio. And his faithful dog ?Peanut?. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Dean Griffin and a Brother, Richard Eugene Griffin Memorial Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
