William D. Huff,
84, of Lima, Ohio died on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 5:30 P.M. at the Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, Ohio.
Born December 3, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lloyd Huff and the late Naomi D. (Duncan) Huff.
Mr. Huff married Constance Brogan on July 14, 1951. She survives in Lima.
He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1951. He retired from teaching in 1982. The schools that he taught at were in, Haskins, OH, Cridersville High School, the Lima City Schools at Central High and then at West Jr. High School. He was a member of the First Evangelical and Reformed Church. He received his BS degree from Bowling Green University and was a member of the Phi Delta Fraternity. He was an avid sports fan, who coached basketball at Cridersville, and football and track at Lima Central High. He also loved to play golf, but his favorite thing was to be with his children and family.
Surviving are: two daughters, Gayle Huff of Lima, OH and Jill Grant of Springhill, TN; four grandchildren, Jason (Tracy) Carey of Phoenix, AZ, Melissa (Paul) Allen of Naples, FL, Jodi Burkett of Ada, OH, and Jennifer (Brian) Ennis of Chattanooga, TN; six great grandchildren; a brother, James (Diane) Huff of Ocala, FL.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Carey, and sister, Janelle Phillips.
There will be no visitation.
At his request a private family funeral service will be held.
Rev. Ed Rinehart will officiate.
Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
