WILLIAM D. JOHNSON, 68, died at 10:35 p.m. April 25, 2007, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1938, in Forest City, Missouri, to William D. and Grace A. Phelan Johnson. He married Connie Searles, who died June 16, 1993. On June 28, 1995, he married Ruth Bethel, who survives. Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Army from November 1956 until November 1959. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Loyal Order of Moose, all in Fostoria. He worked at the Fostoria Foundry and later for General Dynamics, from which he retired as a welder. Survivors also include a son, William D. Johnson III, of Lima, Ohio; three daughters, Christy A. Johnson, Pamela S. Risner, and Billie D. Vanderfoff, all of Findlay, Ohio; a stepson, John W. (Tina) Carman, of Fostoria, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Amy S. Reinhard; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, LeRoy (Stella) Johnson, of Fostoria, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Johnson; and a son-in-law, Michael Risner. Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, where military services will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. Wanda Werking will officiate.
