William L. May,
88 of Lafayette, Ohio died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 3:16 A.M. at Richland Manor Nursing Home in Bluffton, Ohio.
Born May 12, 1924 in Morrow County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Oscar B. May and the late Inez M. (Bedford) May.
He served in the Army from 1943 until 1946 and was a Veteran of World War II.
William married Charlotte Clay on August 11, 1958 in West Virginia. She preceded him in death. He had worked at ExCello Corp. as a machinist. He was in the first graduating class of the New Allen East High School. He was the past commander and current trustee at the Ada VFW 9381. He was a member of the Eagles, Ada Senior Citizens, and president of the ExCello Union Retirees Club. He enjoyed playing on the computer, camping and traveling.
Surviving are a: son, David (Mary Rose) May; a son, Perry May; a son, Tom (Debbie) Wallace; a son Bob (Tammy) Wallace; and a son, Randy Wallace; a daughter, Sheila Wallace; a son, Ron (Teresa) Conrad; and a son, Rick (Cindy) Conrad; a daughter, Brenda (Lyle) Schick; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-nine; great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; a sister, Marie (Welch) of Florida; and a special lady friend, Helen McPheron.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
