William "Bill" Warner McKinney,
77 of Lima, Ohio died on Friday, March 30, 2012, at 4:22 A.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

Born Tuesday, March 5, 1935 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harold McKinney and the late Florence (Lance) McKinney. He was the husband of Patricia Welsh McKinney, who survives in Lima.

He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War from May 21, 1952 to May 20, 1956 and a member of VFW #1275 and the American Legion Post. He was one of the first employees to be hired at Lima Ford Plant - twice UAW 1219 Pres.; union Rep. many times, Labor Rep. for United Fund many years; following his retirement he worked at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home; Financial Chairman of Upper Miami Fellowship Council; he was nominated from Ford as the "Outstanding Young Man of The Year". He was known for being an outstanding cook, having helped with many Masonic Lodge activities, catering; and always the cook at family get-togethers. He was a member & Past Master of Ft. Amanda Lodge #706 F&A Masons; Past High Priest Lima Chapter #49 R.A.M.; Past Illus. Master Lima Council #20 R&S Masons; Past Commander of Shawnee Commandry #14 Knights Templar; Past 2nd Arch Adu. Grand Council Royal & Select Masons of Ohio; Member of Ohio Prior #18 Knights of the York Cross of Honor; member of and Past Sovereign Master of Buckeye Council #52, Allied Masonic Degrees; He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Valley of Dayton; and a Meritorious Service Award Recipient. He was also a member of the Royal Order of Scotland; Past Pres. Lima Shrine Club; Past Pres. Masters High 12 #590; Past Pres Allen County Scottish Rite Assoc; he was a member of Trinity Chapter, #16 O.E.S. Associate Patron and Past Worthy Patron. He also belonged to the Lima Elks B.P.O.E. #54; Lima Eagles Aerie #370; & was a former Cub Master of St.Mark's Pack #47; and a Neighborhood Chairman for Cub Scouting. He was also a member of the Lima Baptist Temple.

Surviving are sons, Michael McKinney of Lima, OH, William D. (Robin) McKinney of Ross, OH and Paul Lee (Lorie) McKinney of Hamilton, OH, daughters, Tammy (Keith) Kahler of Put In Bay, OH and Lori (Tim) EnYart of Lima, OH, brother, Thomas H. McKinney of Lima, OH, sister, Margaret M. (Kenneth) Edwards of Columbus Grove, OH; 14 grand children; 24 great grand children.

He was predeceased by brothers, Jon McKinney and James McKinney, sisters, Iris Hennessy and Mary Lou McDonald.

Visitation will be at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with an OES Memorial Service at 8:00 p.m. followed by a Masonic Service and a Scottish Rite Ring Service.

Funeral Service will be Monday, April 2, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Lima Baptist Temple with Pastor Gary Hohman officiating.

Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, Ohio, with military honors conducted by VFW Post 1275.

Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
