William R. "Bill" Nichols,
85 , Peacefully slipped from the arms of his family to his family's arms in heaven, and into the hands of God at 8:37 PM. January 30, 2013 at Florida South Hospital in Orlando, Florida.
Bill was born September 8, 1927 in Seneca, Kansas to Lawrence and Dorothy (Oatman) Nichols who preceded him in death.
He married Mary M. Nester who passed away, April 19, 1978. He later married Nancy A. Meyers who passed away December 28, 2003.
Bill was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #370, Lima, American Legion and VFW Post #1275. He worked and retired from Stedke Construction Company. He also served in the Army in the Korean War. He loved to play bingo and cards and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his spunkiness.
Survivors include three children, Debra A. (Michael) Tierney of Wapakoneta, OH, William G. (Elaine) Nichols of Chuluota, FL and Pamela A. (Nichols) Jenkins of Lima, OH. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Justin Tierney, Amber Nichols, Alisha Nichols, Ashley Nichols and Jessica Jenkins., five great-grandchildren, Gavin Tierney, Jacob Nichols, Andrew Corey, Braylen Johnson and Drayden Johnson.
He was preceded in death by a son Lawrence Michael Nichols and two sisters Marilyn "Marie" Risner and Betty Louise Burkholder.
Condolences may be expressed to the family at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. on Saturday February 16, 2013, with Memorial Services at 11:30 A.M. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Wapakoneta, at 1:00 P.M. with Military Honors by VFW Post #1275.
Lunch will be held at Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 on Robb Ave., beginning at 2:00 P.M.
