WILLIAM E. NICHOLS Sr., 78, died at 11:30 a.m. May 4, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born January 7, 1928, in Lima, Ohio to Diamond Dewey and Mary Alexander Nichols, who preceded him in death. On May 22, 1954, he married Patricia Rolfes, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Nichols retired from Randall Bearings after 35 years. Following his retirement he worked at Clyde Evans Grocery/Rays Clocktower Plaza. He attended a Baptist church. He was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and a former member of the Lima Traffic Club. He was an Army veteran serving with the 82nd Airborne Division from January 19, 1948, to January 19, 1950. He loved dancing and his part-time job, because he got to meet many wonderful people. Survivors also include a son, William E. (Helen) Nichols of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; a daughter, Michelle (Paul) Musser of Langsville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Bo (Erin) Heil, Nathaniel Nichols, Domenic Nichols and Trisha (Brian) Luchini; and four great-grandchildren, Amber Heil, Jade Heil, Aidan Luchini and Paige Luchini. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. James Jamison will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
