William Merle Sherer II,
63 of Lima, Ohio died on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at his residence in Lima, Ohio.
Born Thursday, August 11, 1949 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Merle Sherer I and the late Thelma Mae (Spencer) Sherer.
William was self employed as a carpet installer. He was an active outdoors man and loved to mushroom hunt.
Surviving are: four sons, William "Bill" M. Sherer III of Lima, OH, Troy Cash of Terra Haute, IN, Mike Robinson of Terra Haute , IN, and Marvin Church; two daughters, Janet Quickle of Lima, OH, and Sherry Vining of Findley, OH; a granddaughter Tracey Vining; a brother Ronald Allen of Cincinnati, OH; and a sister, Jennie Scarberry of Lima, OH; several grandchildren and great grandchildren , many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Butler; a brother, Gale F. Sherer, Sr; and a sister, Nola M. Henry; former wife, Mary Sherer; longtime companion, Diana Butler.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, October 26, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Memorial service will be at 6:00 PM on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
