William A. Sommer

William A. Sommer SR., 87. died on Saturday, April 3, 2021, in Fenton, Michigan

Bill was born on February 19, 1934, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Henry and Martha (Sitzman) Sommer. On November 15, 1952, he married Eunice E. Crompton, who died in 2017.

Bill and his wife, Eunice, owned and operated the William A. Sommer Company Inc., selling and servicing lawn tractors and equipment. In 2019 Bill moved from Lima to he and Eunice’s favorite getaway on Canada Creek Ranch in Atlanta, Michigan where he lived until shortly before his death.

He is survived by his children, Marty (Larry) Peckham of Escondido, CA., Karen Sommer of Lima, Bill (Mary Ann) Sommer, JR. of Lima, Barbara (Paul) Schulz of Fenton, MI., Kathy (Jim) Bowman of Sugar Grove, OH., Patty (Jim) McDonnell of Leland, NC., Christine Wilmoth of Louisville, KY., Don (Chris) Sommer of Ada, OH., and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandson, Troy Peckham, his granddaughter, Brandi Bowman, and his sisters, Janey Heyne and Ruthann Kasper.
