William Stitely

William Ray ?Bill? Stitely, 85, died at 7:15 a.m. Aug. 13, 2009, at Golden Living Center. He was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Waynesboro, Pa., to William Ray and Florence Mae Snyder Stitely Sr., who preceded him in death. On June 22, 1947, he married Marjorie Ann Hefner, who survives in Lima. Mr. Stitely was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a member of Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Fort Amanda Lodge 706 Free & Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Antioch Temple of Dayton, Trinity Chapter 16 Order of Eastern Star, where he had served as a worthy patron, and the Lima Shrine Club. He managed and sold shoes at Crawford Shoe Store for 33 years. He was an Army veteran serving from Dec. 14, 1942, to June 19, 1943. Survivors also include a daughter, Cynthia Jean (Robin David) Aberte, of Palm Bay, Fla.; and a sister, Elizabeth A. Warren, of Elizabethtown, Pa. He was preceded in death by two brothers, C. Mark and Franklin L. Stitely. Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County, Ind. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lima Masonic Center.
