William A. Wilson,

82, died at 10:19 AM on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family in Lima, Ohio.

William was born on Sunday, April 14, 1935, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, to the late Pascal A. and Polly A. (Lane) Wilson.  He married Thelma J. Brooks who preceded him in death on October 2, 2005.

William was a charter member of Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a current Deacon at Faith Missionary Baptist Church. He was a master carpenter and an avid hunter. He retired from the Ford Motor Company and was a member of U.A.W. 1219. William was a man of strong faith that loved the Lord and his family deeply.

He is survived by his children, William E. (Beth) Wilson, Cathy L. (David) Wright, Marsha K. (Randall) Parsons, Ronnie D. Wilson and Wanda J. (Max) Sheets; seventeen grandchildren; twenty- two great-grandchildren; siblings, Willine Wicker, Ted (Diane) Wilson, Robert Wilson, Shirley Williams, Shelby Wilson, Wilma Smith and Mary  Lou Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Dewey Wyatt and a sister, Dorothy Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, April 6, and Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Monday, April 9, 2018 with an hour of visitation prior to service at Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette.  Pastor Truman Partin will officiate.  Interment will be in Lafayette Cemetery, Lafayette, Ohio.
