Bill leaves behind his wife, Jo (Hydaker); son, Mark and his wife Annette; son, Brad and wife Roxi and daughter, Kelley Merwin and her husband Chris. Bill was blessed with 5 grandchildren whom he adored: Rylee, Alex, Jace, Carsen and Kenzie and one great-grand daughter, Annabelle. Growing up in Lima, Bill was part of the 1946 Lima Central Football State Championship team. He attended Miami University of Ohio and graduated from Capital University in Columbus. An ARMY veteran, Bill served overseas in Korea before coming back to Lima to marry and settle down with his high school sweetheart, Jo.

A pillar of the Lima business community, Bill owned several successful businesses, most notably, Candy Cane Corner and Bill Komminsk Pontiac. He was a member of Westside Swim and Racquet Club where he could always be found in the pool with his kids or on the tennis courts. Bill was a lifelong member of Trinity Church and volunteered his time with the care and maintenance of the building. He was very involved with his kids and was always a fixture on top of the red booster club barn at Shawnee football games selling programs to the fans.

He was a devoted family man who loved boating, fishing, Ohio State football and waterskiing on the Auglaize River. His life was full of family and friendship. Always a jokester, he touched so many people with his kind heart and infectious laughter.
