WORTHY ROBERT SLAYTON, Sr. 64, died at 11;41 a.m. November 8, 2006 at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born April 30, 1942, in Hosett, West Virginia, to Clyde Mitchell and Bonnie Mae Slayton, who preceded him in death. On June 5, 1980, he married Grace Livermore, who survives in Lima. Mr. Slayton had been a maintenance man for the Marion County children?s Home. He was a member of the Full Gospel Temple of Love. Survivors also include seven daughter, Libby (Rodney Williams) McKean, of Delaware, Ohio, Betty (Dean Dunlat) Downing, of Lima, Ohio Jennifer (Scott) Elkins, of Delaware, Ohio, Tabatha (Eugene) Perreault, of Vaughnsville, Ohio Candy (Odilon) Montano, of Lima, Ohio Chastity (Ahmed Keita) Slayton, of Columbus, Ohio and Julia (Anthony Talbert) Slayton, of Lima, Ohio; a brother, Don (Chris) Curtis of Portsmouth; and 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Worthy Robert Slayton, Jr. and a grandson, Isaiah Slayton. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Gladys Lawrence will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Marion, Ohio Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
