Zelma L. Cox , 93, died at 6:15 p.m. March 15, 2009, at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born July 26, 1915, in Monroe, Wisconsin, to Jefferson and Mary Altman Grinnell, who preceded her in death. On April 1, 1933, she married Donald H. Cox Sr., who died March 9, 2006. Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and had been Region II director of OAGC, and had been a member of the Allen County Fair and participated in its flower show. She had been a president of the Lima Lioness Club and volunteered at the Christmas Tree Festival for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline (Ronald) Rower, of Lima, Ohio; two sons, Ronald (Jill) Cox and Donald Cox Jr., both of Lima, OHio; eight grandchildren, Jan (Mark) Schluneker, Mark (Beverly) Rower, Gary Rower and Craig (Linda) Rower, all of Lima, Ohio, Susan (Scott) Slusser, of Vaughnsville, Ohio, Holly (Joel Kahl) Cox, of Davie, Florida, Gregory (Anginette) Cox, of Worthington, Ohio, and Mary (Troy) Malsam, of Columbus Grove, Ohio; 16 great-grandchildren, Doug Schluneker, David Schluneker, Matthew Schluneker, Jennifer Rower, Matthew Rower, Tracy Rower, Kathy Nieto, Melissa Rower, Ryan Catlett, Megan Slusser, Cory and Allissa Rower, Taylor Malsam, Hallie Malsam, Kirsten Malsam, Ryan Cox and Natalie Cox; and two great-great-grandchildren, Seth Catlett and Laurena Nieto. She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Services will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard M. Allison will officiate.
