John Douglas Brentlinger, age 72, left this world from Nashville, Tennessee, bound for eternal life in God’s great and wide Heaven.
He was born in Lima, Ohio on October 13, 1948, to Lanford Hobart and Constance Ilene Brentlinger. Both preceded John in death.
On November 27, 1970, John Brentlinger and Janice Frail were married at the Lima Baptist Temple. They were married for 32 years; Jan passed from this life on April 26, 2003. Since that day, life has not been the same.
John and Jan were blessed with three sons; John, his children John, Olivia and Alexis; Joel, his wife Lynn and daughter Abby and stepson Kellen; and James, wife Vanessa, son, Wyatt James.
John was preceded in death by three Brothers; David, Daniel and James. Surviving are a sister, Chris (Steve) Sandy; and brother Richard who resides in Pensacola.
John served in the United States Navy, and loved the sea.
He was ordained as a Baptist preacher in 1976 and devoted his life to the study of the Word of God.
Some noted friends deserve special mention; first, Dan Frail, brother to Janice; brother-in-law and lifelong true brother. Second, Vince Scheid, who should have been my brother.
No more heartache, no more sickness, no more pain. Goodbye to suffering, to doubting, goodbye to fear. Hello to one constant day of heavenly splendor, hello to peace forever with my eternal Savior.
To all my friends on the shore, goodbye to you. I hope to see you on that golden shore beyond the sunset. There to an ocean fullness, His mercy doth expand, and glory, glory dwelleth in Immanuel’s land.
