Shirley Marie (Reese) Taylor

Shirley Marie (Reese) Taylor, 87, passed away at 5:24 a.m. on December 15, 2022, at Lima Convalescent Home.

Shirley was born on November 8, 1935 in Westminster, Ohio, to Stanley Berlin and Vesta Evelyn (Plummer) Shaw.  She first married Calvin Reese who survives in Lima. She then married Arley Taylor who passed July, 5, 2018.

Shirley graduated from Lima South High School.  She was a member of Westside United Methodist Church and sang in their choir.  She was a member of the Eastern Star – Trinity Chapter #16, the Eagles, the American Legion, the Westgate Neighborhood Association, and the Women of Westside.  She had retired from Reaman Pharmacy in 2001.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah K. Reese of Ellenton, FL; son, Kris (Amy) Reese of Elida; grandchildren: Allison (Jeff) Dauterman, Stephanie (Noah) Gallagher, and Tricia Meek; great-grandchildren: Ty Barnette, Trevor Barnette, Christopher Meek, Eli Dauterman, Ella Dauterman, Charlie Gallagher, and Andie Gallagher; and great-great-granddaughter, Kyra Barnette.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arley Taylor; brothers: Carl Shaw, Paul Shaw, and Myron Shaw; sisters: Evelyn Shaw, Joanne (Al) Good, Dorothy (James) Fedele, Donna (Joe) Baber, Katherine (Charles) Downing, Jean (Ray) Moneer, Ruth (Cody) Spencer, and Helen (Russ) White; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Shaw and Alice Shaw.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m.  Pastor Ted Bible will officiate.  Burial of Ashes will be at a later date in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westside United Methodist Church.
